Our Story

Famora began with a simple observation

Many families in Bangkok were navigating moments of friction — between partners, between parents and children, between those coordinating shared responsibilities after a change in family structure — without much practical guidance on how to talk through what was happening. Professional services existed, but the gap before that point, the ordinary difficulty of expressing needs clearly or listening without reacting, was less well served.

Famora was established to fill that space. Not as a personal support service, but as an educational one. A place where the mechanics of communication — the skills that make conversations feel less fraught and more productive — could be explored without pressure, at a pace that suited each family.

We opened our first workshop sessions in Bangkok in early 2023. Since then, we've welcomed participants from across the city who came in quietly curious and left with a few things they could actually use.

Our Mission

What we set out to do

Famora's work is grounded in one idea: that communication is a learnable skill, not an innate talent. Most people aren't taught how to listen well, how to express a need without blame, or how to plan cooperatively when tension is present. These things can be learned, practised, and gradually improved — given the right setting and the right content.

We provide that setting. Our sessions are small, unhurried, and free of any sense of obligation to share more than you're comfortable with. The focus is always on transferable skills, not on analysing individual situations.

We work with families in Bangkok who are navigating everyday communication challenges, and we do so through structured educational programmes that participants can engage with at their own pace.

How We Work

Values that shape every session

Famora's programmes are built around a few non-negotiable principles. First, that participants should always feel in control of how much they share and how they engage. No session at Famora is designed to extract personal detail or put someone on the spot. The facilitator introduces frameworks, participants try things out in general or hypothetical terms, and the take-home materials let people continue the work privately.

Second, that content should be practically grounded. Communication theory is useful only when it connects to real situations. We draw on frameworks from educational psychology, applied linguistics, and conflict studies — but we translate those into concrete exercises rather than abstract lectures. Participants leave each session with something they can try the same day.

No Rush, No Pressure

Every session is offered as an invitation, not an obligation. We pace content so participants can absorb and reflect rather than feeling pushed through material.

Discreet Participation

Group sessions operate under a shared understanding that what's discussed in the room stays there. Individual enquiries and bookings are handled privately.

Skills-First Approach

We focus on what participants can learn and apply, not on assessing or advising on their personal circumstances. Skills, not opinions — that's what we offer.

Standards & Practices

How we maintain quality and participant care

Curriculum Review

All session content is reviewed periodically to ensure it remains grounded in current educational best practice and reflects feedback gathered from past participants.

Data Privacy

Participant information is stored securely and never shared with third parties. Famora follows Thai personal data protection requirements and informs participants clearly about what is collected.

Small Group Limits

Workshop groups are capped to ensure every participant has space to engage with the material and ask questions without feeling overlooked or rushed.

Scope Transparency

We're clear at every point about what our programmes do and don't cover. Sessions are educational, not professional advisory or support services — and we communicate that openly.

Post-Session Feedback

Participants are invited to share written feedback after each session. This feedback directly shapes how programmes evolve from one cohort to the next.

Evidenced Materials

Worksheets and templates provided in each programme draw on established communication research rather than opinion-based advice, keeping content grounded and balanced.
